The POW/MIA community lost one of its great leaders this past weekend. Artie Muller passed away days after his 80th birthday. Dedicating his life to his country and fellow service members, he served honorably in the Vietnam War and then channeled his energies to advocate for the Prisoners of War & Missing in Action. Like many of the veterans returning after the war, he was haunted by the reports of the men left behind—accounted and unaccounted for— but uniquely turned a movement into a national organization. In 1994, he formed Rolling Thunder Inc National. This enabled and enlisted the help and dedication of men and women from all over the country and all over the world to advocate on the behalf of POW/MIA’s. He and his organization hosted the Rolling Thunder First Amendment Demonstration Run in Washington , DC for over 25 years creating a community of brothers and sisters and an annual event that is sacred till this day. Welcome Home and God Speed Sergeant Muller.
